The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber (GGCC) awarded David McCormick-Goodhart, Financial Advisor at Savant Capital Management, as the recipient of the 6th Annual Young Professional of the Year Award (YPG) at the Chamber’s Annual Celebration Dinner & Awards Ceremony. The award was presented by Laura Volovski of Adventist HealthCare. Adventist HealthCare was the sponsor of this year’s Young Professional of the Year award.

It’s great to see the next generation of business professionals become leaders in their own right. Not only is David great at what he does, he is a community leader. He is a role model for young and old alike,” said Marilyn Balcombe, GGCC President / CEO.

The Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of a highly motivated, emerging leader of the Chamber’s Young Professional’s group.

McCormick-Goodhart has been employed with Savant Capital Management for three and a half years, and has spent almost fourteen years in the financial industry.

He created a niche for himself in tax planning and preparation for both individuals and small businesses. While he was successful in the public accounting profession, he desired to be in a job role that would provide significantly more direct, client facing contact. In 2013, he transitioned into the wealth management industry. He is a dedicated life-long learner with six professional designations.

McCormick-Goodhart is dedicated to the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber, serving on the membership committee, where he frequently engages with new members and serves as an ambassador at Chamber events.

He is a leader, exuding leadership at work, with the Chamber and in his personal life too. At Savant, he was sought out by the management team for his collaboration and teamwork skills.

For his commitment and dedication to the Chamber, McCormick-Goodhart was elected and installed recently as a 2019 Chamber board director.

Along with several professional designations, he was the recipient of the 2015 Dale Carnegie Breakthrough & Human Relations Award, and was named a 2018 Chamber exceptional volunteer. McCormick-Goodhart is an active member of the Chamber’s Young Professional Group, attending events and is consistently lending a hand too.
