Update: The National Weather Service updated the earlier advisory to expect light sleet and freezing rain to begin between 1 and 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. Precipitation will change to rain by 10 a.m. and temperatures will rise well above freezing. Drivers should be prepared for slippery roads during the morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for our area from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Service said to expect snow, sleet or freezing rain during the morning commute.

We may get up to a half inch of wet snow and less than an inch of ice accumulation in Montgomery County.

The Service expects the weather will cause slippery road conditions during the Wednesday morning commute.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause  travel difficulties. Drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.
