Montgomery County police charged a Magruder High School student Thursday morning after two Magruder High School separate weapons cases at the school prompted a “hold status.”
Police said officers detained two students. One student had a knife. The second student had a BB gun. Montgomery County Public Schools put the school on a hold status — which means hallways are kept clear while classroom activities continue, according to the school district — while officers investigated both cases and restricted movement inside the building.
MCPD later charged a 15‑year‑old student with assault and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property. Police said officers cleared the building and Magruder resumed class. The weapons cases ended once officers confirmed the campus was safe.
