Montgomery County Releases Independent Study on Taser Use by Police (VIDEO)

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett today, joined by Police Chief Tom Manger and Geoffrey Alpert, released a report on taser use by the county police department. The multi-month study, commissioned by the study,  included a review of taser use in the past two years, departmental policies, and training provided to police officers. The report summary shows “that taser use is low and is not the ‘go to’ weapon or ‘weapon of choice’ that is found in so many police departments throughout the United States”. The report may be found, here.
