The purpose of this blog is to inspire our community to be mindful of what is good in the world, to focus on the positive, to be solution oriented and empower one another to make the world a better place. Dara Feldman has been a passionate educator for over 25 years and spent most of her career in MCPS as a classroom teacher and instructional technology specialist. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood, an Apple Distinguished Educator and was honored as Disney’s 2005 Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year. In 2000 Steve Jobs of Apple Computer nominated Dara for the ComputerWorld Smithsonian Award in Education and Academia, which she won. Dara is the author of “The Heart of Education: Bringing Joy, Meaning and Purpose Back to Teaching and Learning” and works with families, educators, businesses and communities around the world empowering them to utilize The Five Strategies of The Virtues Project for personal, professional and organizational transformation. She currently serves as the Chairperson for the Virtues Project International Association, Director of Education for The “V”Channel, board member for the University of Maryland’s College of Education Alumni Board and an expert consultant to the Character Education Partnership.
