Police Say Missing Wheaton Teen Found

Update, Saturday: Montgomery County police say Amen Alemu has been reunited with her family.

Original post: A Wheaton 14-year-old girl is missing and Montgomery County police is asking the public’s help in finding her.

Amen A. Alemu was last seen by family on June 14 when she left her Shorefield Court home on foot, a police statement says.

Alemu is 5 feet tall tall and weighs 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.  Alemu was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket over a yellow shirt, pink pants, and orange Adidas tennis shoes.

Police and family are concerned for Alemu’s welfare.

Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Amen A. Alemu is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hours).
