Several Hospitalized From Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Georgetown Prep

Several people were taken to the hospital Monday morning, after a multi-vehicle crash outside of Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda.

Pete Piringer, the spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services, said the multi-vehicle accident occurred southbound on the Rockville Pike near Strathmore Avenue at around 9:15 a.m. According to Piringer, one of the vehicles involved was a landscaping truck with an attached trailer.

Georgetown Prep released a statement on its Facebook page confirming that the light and pole outside of the campus’ entrance was damaged. The statement also told the Prep community to expect delays as the light and pole undergo construction.

Piringer said on Twitter that seven people were taken to the hospital in total — four of whom are being treated for trauma.

A spokesperson for Montgomery County Police Department told MyMCMedia that there haven’t been any casualties from the accident.

The accident caused significant delays on the Pike, but all travel lanes on MD-355 reopened before 4 p.m.
