Sinkhole Causes Major Delays on GW Parkway
A sinkhole caused lane closures and major delays on GW Parkway Friday morning.
Officials with the National Park Service say they responded to the sinkhole around 6:00 am which is located near Dead Run, south of the Beltway in McLean Virginia.
At one time officials say traffic had to be detoured on both N/B and S/B lanes, however now they say Parkway S/B lanes are re-opened. N/B lanes are expected to open again soon. The Federal Highway Administration is currently doing an assessment to ensure everyone’s safety.
