Traffic Delays Likely on Memorial Service Route for Police Officer Kyle Olinger

The Montgomery County Police said traffic delays should be expected from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 12 during the memorial service for Police Officer Kyle Olinger.

A funeral procession, which includes motor officers and marked police cruisers, will escort Officer Olinger’s ashes from the Rockville Town Square beginning at 10 a.m. The procession will conclude at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School at approximately 10:45 a.m.

The service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Attendees will be arriving early at the Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, which is located at 17301 Old Vic Boulevard in Olney. This will affect the morning commute.

From approximately 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be heavier than normal traffic from Rockville Town Square to eastbound Norbeck Road (MD 28) to northbound Georgia Avenue (MD 97) to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. Traffic on Olney Sandy Spring Road (MD 108) will experience significant congestion between 10 a.m. until noon.

“This will impact the morning commute.” Bad writing. Use “affect” instead.
