VRF Montgomery County Inaugural Gala

Greg Wims (l) and Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett (r) at the VRF Montgomery County Inaugural Gala.

On Saturday night at Knights of Columbus in Silver Spring, I was asked to operate the field camera at an inaugural party organized by my dear friend, award winning MCM Producer and the founder and president of the Victims Rights Foundation, Greg Wims.

Away from the congestion of downtown DC this was almost like a private affair if it hadn’t been for the very distinguished guests like Montgomery County Chief Executive Ike Leggett and his wife, Montgomery County District 39 Delegate Shane Robinson and many other local dignitaries. Also many members of Goshen United Methodist Church were in attendance.

The live jazz and R&B sounds were only briefly interrupted when Greg Wims thanked the guests and Montgomery County Chief Executive Ike Leggett praised Greg for his tireless efforts to improve communities, both here in Montgomery County, as well as his fantastic work in Kenya, where his charity organization is building a school. Greg recently received the Bruce Adams Award at the annual Monty awards ceremony at the BlackRock Center of the Arts in Germantown, to recognize his contribution to public service and his humanitarian work.
