What’s Open, What’s Closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in Montgomery County

Here’s a look at the county government’s holiday schedule for Dec. 24 and Dec. 31:

  • County Offices — open.
  • Libraries — closing at 6 p.m.
  • County Liquor Stores — open.
  • Recreation Centers — open.
  • Aquatics Facilities — close at 3 p.m. Olney Swim Center is closed Dec. 31.

  • Ride On — On Dec. 24, it operates from the route endpoints until 10 p.m.; runs starting from the endpoints after 10 p.m. will not operate. On Dec. 31, it operates as normal.

  • TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center — open.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – closed.
  • Refuse/recycling Collections – Operating as normal.

  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – normal regulations and fees in effect.
