Little Falls Area Residents Protest New Parks Plan

On Thursday, Nov. 17, a group of residents held a silent vigil to protest current proposals by Montgomery Parks for continuing modifications to the Little Falls Parkway, an important conduit for commuters into Bethesda.

MCM interviewed Neighborhood Coalition spokesperson Carl Becker about the efforts to return the Parkway to its former layout.

A petition to return the Parkway to its prior configuration has generated more than 5 thousand signatures. Two hundred and sixty-four new supporters signed on this last week.

The two current proposals will be voted on by the three-member Planning, Housing and Parks committee of the Council on Monday, Nov. 27. The proposal adopted by that committee will be presented to the full County Council at a later date.
