Montgomery Parks Offering Nature Center Programs in November

Montgomery Parks is offering numerous fun and educational programs throughout November. There are activities for all ages and interests. Here’s the list of events, including dates and descriptions:

Project FeederWatch | Thursdays and Fridays, Nov 2. –Dec 1.| 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: A seasonal community project where participants observe the type of birds that visit a bird feeder.  Registration is required, but free for ages five and older.

Family Fire Night | Nov 3. | 6 – 8 p.m.: A park naturalist takes a group to Brookside Nature Center for a campfire. Ages six and older can Register for $7.

Maydale Nature Classroom: Community Celebration Nov 4 . | 1 – 4 p.m.: A family fun event, including live music, campfires and apple cider making. No registration is required for this event.

Virtual Family Trivia Night: Dark Sky Theme | Nov 15. | 6 – 7 p.m.: Quizmaster Jenn conducts yet another trivia challenge at Meadowside Nature Center in Rockville. The theme for the trivia game will be dark-sky-themed. This event is free and doesn’t require registration. However, it caps out after the first 200 teams.

Nature Center Pop-Up | Nov 19. | 1 – 4 p.m.:  At Josiah Henson Museum and Park in North Bethesda, attendees will experience biology-themed activities with a naturalist. This event is free and doesn’t require registration.

Full Moon Fridays | Nov 24. | 5:30 – 7 p.m.: Hike during the full moon and sit by a campfire at Locust Grove Nature Center in Bethesda.  This event costs $8 and registration is required for ages five and older.

Night Hike | Nov 27. | 5 – 6 p.m.: Attendees embark on a post-sunset mile-long hike and listen for nature’s nocturnal creatures. Registration is required and costs $6.
