Ukrainian Scouts Continue Efforts to Help Civilians Overseas

Last Saturday, Ukrainian Girl and Boy Scouts returned to Bethesda to continue their efforts helping civilians overseas in Ukraine.

The local chapter of the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization gathered at Westland Middle School to pack emergency medical kits to send to those in need during the ongoing invasion. They had also gathered on the previous Saturday, March 19.

Roman Chaban, a Plast Ukrainian Scout, said there is a big need for army supplies in Ukraine. There is also a need to help civilians as casualties rise.

“A lot of what people are gathering are the arms and the shields and whatever else, but almost more important are the people who are forgotten, which are the poor people who are suffering, the people who have injuries,” Chaban said. They will continue their work this coming Saturday afternoon.
