1. Purple Line: The Purple Line project is 80% complete, and testing of the light rail trains has begun as the project moves closer to its December 2027 opening date.
2. Council President Briefing: At 10:30 a.m., County Council President Kate Stewart will host a media availability to talk about council matters. The public can watch on the council’s Facebook page.
3. Flood Sensors Enable County To React Quickly, Reduce Rescues: Although the July 19th flooding “was the worst flash flooding” the county has experienced since Emergency Management Specialist Matt Miziorko began monitoring storms in 2013, there were no serious injuries or damage to the landscape.

4. Summer Staycation in the County: The summer is more than halfway over, but there is still time left to explore and experience new adventures. While thousands of county residents may head to their favorite beach or other destination, lots of other people will stay home this summer.
5. ICYMI: A bill was signed into law last week to give fired federal workers preference when applying for county jobs.
