County Providing Workshops to Non-Public Schools Due to Additional COVID-Like Illnesses

According to local health officials, the county continues to provide workshop services for non-public schools due to additional COVID-19 like illness experiences.

Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles says that more local private schools had to take coronavirus-related quarantine actions within the past week. He added that another non-public school met the criteria for an outbreak- bringing the total to two schools in the county. So far this fall, more than nine schools have been investigated due to COVID-19 concerns, county officials say.

Dr. Gayles provided further information during the county’s virtual media briefing on Wednesday:

Dr. Gayles did not name the schools due to privacy concerns and ongoing investigations.
