County Seeks Commuter Feedback From Select Districts Through May 31

Montgomery County wants commuter feedback from select areas to help improve transportation options. The survey closes May 31.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) survey targets employees at large businesses and residents in multi-family buildings. Only people in six Transportation Management Districts may participate: Downtown Bethesda, North Bethesda, Downtown Silver Spring, Friendship Heights, Greater Shady Grove and White Oak.

“If you got this survey, please take the time to fill it out,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “It’s quick, and the information can make a difference.”

MCDOT’s Commuter Services Section conducts the travel survey every two years. Responses help guide transportation planning and policy.

Participants age 18 and older who complete the survey enter weekly drawings for a $25 gift card and a $250 grand prize.

“The survey data helps us develop incentive programs for alternate modes of transportation,” said MCDOT Director Chris Conklin.

One such program is FareShare, which reimburses commuting expenses for Ride On, Metro, MARC, MTA and vanpools.

Eligible employees can receive up to $325 per month. Employers must contribute $25 monthly per employee enrolled in the program.

MCDOT sent the survey link directly to employers and property managers. Those who received it are encouraged to respond before May 31.
