Flood Watch Issued for Montgomery County Friday Evening

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch for parts of Montgomery County from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.

Forecasters expect 1 to 2 inches of rain, with some areas possibly receiving up to 4 inches. Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread late Friday afternoon and continue into the evening. Some storms may produce 1 to 3 inches of rain within a short period, with localized totals reaching 4 to 5 inches where storms repeatedly move over the same area.

Heavy rainfall, combined with already saturated ground, may cause creeks and streams to rise quickly. Flash flooding is possible, especially in urban and low-lying areas.
