The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch for Montgomery County and surrounding areas from 6 am Tuesday to 6 am Wednesday. Heavy rain could lead to flooding.
Forecasters expect a prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain, with embedded thunderstorms, continuing through late Tuesday night. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with higher amounts possible along the eastern mountain slopes. The rainfall may cause scattered flooding, especially in low-lying or poorly drained areas.
Flooding kills more people every year than any other weather hazard. Never drive through flooded roads. If you live in a flood-prone area, be ready to move to higher ground. Stay alert for warnings.
Flood Watch issued for Montgomery County from 6 am Tues., 5/13 to 6 am Wed., 5/14. Do not drive through flood waters. More details: https://t.co/GlY2HaQZRH #MdWx
