Hoping to teach young women business and leadership skills, Girls With Impact will partner with Montgomery County Public Schools.
The idea is to provide young women between the ages of 14 and 24 with the tools, resources and support needed in the workforce, according to a news release from Girls With Impact.
“We are excited to partner with MCPS to educate the next generation of women leaders,” said Jennifer Openshaw, Girls With Impact CEO. “Our program equips young women with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in today’s competitive landscape.”
The hands-on curriculum covers topics like business planning, marketing and financial literacy.
“Montgomery County Public Schools is excited to bring this free Business and Leadership program to MCPS girls and gender expansive youth in Grades 9-12 and equipping them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders,” said Elaine Chang, the Department of Partnerships Director.
“MCPS students have this unique opportunity to work with trained masters in business administration coaches who provide the resources needed to get them from ideation to the launch of their venture ideas,” Chang wrote in a news release.
