Government Shutdown Averted at 11th Hour

President Biden signed a short-term bipartisan spending bill hours before the midnight deadline that averts a government shutdown. Earlier, the Senate voted to pass the bill following the House’s vote to pass the bill. The bill keeps the government funded until Nov. 17.

“Tonight, bipartisan majorities in the House and Senate voted to keep the government open, preventing an unnecessary crisis that would have inflicted needless pain on millions of hardworking Americans,” Biden said in a statement Saturday.
