On June 26, Senators Angela Alsobrooks and Chris Van Hollen will hold a telephone town hall to discuss the Republican Party’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” The meeting will occur at 5:30 p.m and provide members of the public with the opportunity to ask questions about the state of the legislation.
The bill, currently on the senate floor, cuts funding from Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act and SNAP programs.
If the legislation passes, 16 million Americans, including 229,000 Marylanders, will lose health insurance.
“Senator Alsobrooks and I will give everything we have to stop this bill from passing,” said Van Hollen.
The meeting will be broadcast to the public via livestream.
