Summer Program Registration Opens May 13

Summer program registration will open for county residents at 6:30 a.m. on May 13 for most activities.

Registration for Bone Builders, Day Trippers and Senior Outdoor Adventures in Recreation will start at 9 a.m.

A new refund policy will take effect on Monday when registration starts. Requests for classes, camps leagues, trips and tour refunds must be submitted before the start of an activity or posted league schedule.

Non-county residents can register for programming beginning at 6:30 a.m. on May 15.

The county’s recreation department also offers a financial aid program, which is currently accepting applications. Residents who meet program requirements can receive $400 per family member to offset program costs.

Registration is also available by mail, drop-off or in person starting on May 13 at 6:30 a.m. at the county’s aquatic centers and Wheaton administrative officers. Other in-person registration options are available at other recreation facilities during regular business hours.

“We are committed to serving County residents and youths with summer programming,” County Executive Marc Elrich said in a press release. “It is important when school is off for the summer, that our families have options for activities to continue learning and to be able to gain skills that will last a lifetime. I encourage all residents to consider Montgomery County Recreation’s summer programs. The most popular programs go fast, so please register as soon as you can.”

Visit the recreation department’s website for more information or call 240-777-6840.
