Turnout Light at County’s Newest Early Voting Site in White Oak

Voting was light Tuesday, with Montgomery County Board of Elections reporting zero wait time at all early election voting sites at noon.

At White Oak Community Recreation Center, the county’s newest early voting site, only 23 people had cast votes as of 11:39 a.m. for the July 19 primary. There were more election workers and volunteers supporting candidates than people actually voting.

Two District 5 county council candidates had close relatives urging people to vote. Elizabeth Barrie, the mother of Fatmata Barrie, and Mabel Koroma, wife of Daniel Koroma, stood out in the heat much of the morning.

Early voting ends July 14.
