A car crashed into Kacey Hair Salon around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, causing structural damage to the Montgomery Avenue building and leaving one person injured. The driver who was initially trapped in the car was rescued and sent to the hospital, according to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.

The cause of the crash has not been announced. No one else was reported injured. After evacuation of the building, the Gaithersburg building and health inspectors arrived to assess the damages, Piringer told MyMCM.

“We’re just very thankful that no one [in the salon] got hurt,” salon employee Bo Suh told MyMCM.

Though the crash did cause property damage, the car did not hit the load bearing wall. The destroyed wall is now covered in plastic and the salon is still open, in the section of the building approved safe, Suh said.

The Montgomery County Police Department did not respond for a comment regarding updates on the accident.
