14 Early Voting Sites Planned for 2026 Election Cycle

County Board of Elections officials plan to offer the same early voting sites in 2026 used in previous election cycles.

Last month, the Board voted unanimously to approve the 14 early voting sites used in the 2022 and 2024 elections, “which allows our voters to go back to familiar locations,” Board President David Naimon said during the June 16 meeting.

On Tuesday, the County Council introduced a resolution in support of the early voting centers. The State Board of Elections must also approve the sites.

“I think this continuity of service… is exactly what our voters want and need,” Naimon said. “They want the reliability of being able to go back to where they went before.”

Mindy Williams, Elections Operations Manager, said five things are taken into account when selecting early voting sites: accessibility for disenfranchised communities, accessibility by public transportation, proximity to dense concentrations, equitable distribution throughout the county, and maximizing voter participation through use of community centers/public gathering spaces.

A list of the 14 recommended early voting centers:

  • Activity Center at Bohrer Park, Gaithersburg
  • Bauer Drive Community Recreation Center, Rockville
  • Nancy H. Dacek Community Recreation Center, North Potomac
  • Damascus Community Recreation Center, Damascus
  • Isiah ‘Ike’ Leggett Executive Office Building, Rockville
  • Germantown Community Recreation Center, Germantown
  • Jane. E. Lawton Community Recreation Center, Chevy Chase
  • Mid-County Community Recreation Center, Layhill
  • Potomac Community Recreation Center, Potomac
  • Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center, Burtonsville
  • Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department Station 4, Sandy Spring
  • Silver Spring Civic Building, Silver Spring
  • Wheaton Community Recreation Center, Wheaton
  • White Oak Community Recreation Center, White Oak

Early voting for the primary election will be June 11-18, 2026, according to the County.

Voters will have the choice between mail-in ballot, any early voting site, or their assigned Election Day polling place.

Residents can vote in-person at any early voting site in the County, but on Election Day, residents can only vote in-person at their assigned polling place. Mail-in ballots can be placed in any ballot drop box in the county.
