2 Arrested for Outstanding Warrants in Takoma Park

Two people were arrested in connection with outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court after they were stopped in connection with an aggravated assault in Takoma Park.

Takoma Park Police officers said they were flagged down by resident June 5 at 11 p.m. near the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue. The resident told police about a man walking around who was bleeding.

The male victim approached an officer and told police he had been robbed and assaulted by an Hispanic female who he did not know. The victim told police she solicited him to purchase drugs and/or sex.

According to police, the victim said he wasn’t interested, and then the female suspect struck him in the head with a rock. At the same time, another suspect hit him in the back of his head with a rock. The victim fell and was further assaulted by the female as well as an Hispanic male, according to police.

The two stole property and fled on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Officers canvassed the area and found two people and were investigating them when the officers learned they both had outstanding warrants. They were arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
