1. Van Hollen Joins Social Security Rally: On Saturday, Sen. Chris Van Hollen spoke at a rally to support Social Security in the Baltimore Harbor. The main message of the rally was, “Social Security is a promise — not a handout — and it’s under attack. We’re here to say: hands off our checks.”
2. County Fair: For the 76th year the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair is back. Visitors are welcome all this week through Saturday. See ticket and parking information here.
3. UkeFest: Strathmore’s UkeFest culminates in an outdoor concert today at 7:30 p.m. at the Gudelsky Gazebo. There is a strum-along at 7 p.m. The concert is free/pay what you can.

4. Tax-Free Week: Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week continues this week through Saturday. It offers tax breaks on select shoes and clothing.
5. ICYMI: A very happy reunion brought together Montgomery County firefighters and the family of a 12-year-old boy they rescued from flood raging waters last month.
