Poet Billy Collins: In celebration of its 15th year, the Gaithersburg Book Festival (GBF) will host former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins for a special event on Friday, Feb. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Asbury Methodist Village Rosborough Cultural Arts Center in Gaithersburg. Free, but tickets are required. Tickets will be released Friday, Feb 9 at 10 a.m.

2. Around the World Bazaar: Silver Spring Town Center, Inc hosts the free bazaar Friday evening from 5 to 10 p.m. The evening’s entertainment includes a Bollywood Wedding Dance, Latin and Brazilian Carnival Dance Party, and Orfeia, a women’s vocal ensemble dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional music from Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.
