1. Pool Renovated: Swimmers with disabilities have a new option in the county. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Outdoor Pool in White Oak was renovated to make it more accessible. MCM was at the pool Wednesday morning to see the new features, including new pool lifts so wheelchair users and others with disabilities can enjoy all areas of the pool.
2. Residents Divided on MidCounty Highway Extension Plans: The vast majority of residents who spoke at Tuesday’s Montgomery County Council public hearing called for the elimination of a proposed five-mile extension of the Midcounty Highway (M83) from Montgomery Village to Ridge Road.
3. Protecting Your Eyes in the Summer: The summer sun is strong, and health professionals say it’s important for people to protect themselves against harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.
4. U.S. Adaptive Open: Potomac native Ford Martin finished out his second U.S. Adaptive Open on Wednesday. He finished in a tie for 10th place in the coordination impairment category, according to the United States Golf Association.
