2. Council President Briefing: At 10:30 a.m., County Council President Kate Stewart will host a media availability to talk about council matters. The public can watch on the council’s Facebook page.

3. Fall sports: Fall sports registration for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is now open.

4. Takoma Park City Council: The Takoma Park City Council will hold a meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Takoma Park Community Center. The meeting can be viewed in-person, on YouTube, the City Council video webpageFacebook, or City TV. See the meeting agenda here.

5. Historic Wall Along C&O Canal Restored: Late last week, the cutting of a red ribbon celebrated the completion of a project to stabilize a 194-year-old wall supporting the C&O Canal towpath along the Potomac River. The original wall was built between 1828 and 1831, well before modern equipment was available.
