1. Hundreds of School Job Cuts: Board of Education members voted 7-1 to approve a $3.72 billion operating budget for schools, including hundreds of job cuts because school system leaders do not have $36 million they said they need.

2. New Mail-In Ballots: County officials are still working to help voters understand the process of receiving and completing their ballots after a printing error produced 500,000 ballots which contained errors.

3. Drought Watch: Last week, a Drought Watch was declared for the greater Washington, D.C. area, including Montgomery County. Residents are urged to voluntarily conserve their water use.
