1. National Harriet Tubman Day:  Today the nation recognizes Harriet Tubman, the woman who led 70 enslaved people north on the Underground Railroad, served in the Army during the Civil War, and was born and enslaved in Dorchester County on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. 2. Metro Budget Hearing: The last public hearing on the proposed $4.8 billion budget is set for today at 6 p.m. More information about watching the hearing live or registering to participate virtually may be found on the Metro website here.

3. County Celebrates Centenarians: Montgomery County is planning a May 12 celebration honoring those who reach their 100th birthday or beyond this year and is asking for the public’s help. The deadline to submit information is today.
