1. Recreation Happenings: The County’s recreation department is commemorating over 70 residents who have had their 100th birthday today at a luncheon. On Monday, registration for summer programs opens at 6:30 a.m.

2. Saturday Concert: A free concert takes place Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Good Hope Recreation Center in Silver Spring. The concert features singer-songwriter Taisha Estrada who is a 2022 alum of the Strathmore Artist in Residence program.

3. Bethesda Fine Arts Festival: Saturday and Sunday, the 18th annual Bethesda Fine Arts Festival features fine art created by 120 artists and live entertainment. Hours are Saturday 10 a.m.-6p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

4. Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive: The 31st annual food drive takes place Saturday, May 13. Postal carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters.

5. Gaithersburg Book Festival: Mayor Jud Ashman previews three of the more than 120 authors featured at the festival scheduled for Saturday, May 20.

And One More Thing: Saturday from 1-3 p.m., stop by Montgomery College Rockville campus parking lot 3 to take a test ride and learn about safe use of electric scooters. A valid driver’s license or ID is required to participate.
