1. Water Safety Day: From 4-7 p.m., Gaithersburg hosts “Water Safety Day” at the water park at Bohrer Park. The free event for all ages features information booths, lifeguard demonstrations and free swim lesson screenings. 2. SSL Hours: For students in Montgomery County Public Schools, Student Service Learning (SSL) forms are due. See more here
3. Outdoor Summer Movie Series: A free outdoor summer movie series is launching in downtown Silver Spring. The first showing is “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” (rated PG) at 8 p.m. at 920 Ellsworth Drive. Registration encouraged
4. Food Drive: Sunday is the last day for Ride On’s annual food drive. Non-perishable foods can be dropped off on Ride On, extRa, Flex and Flash buses. See more here
5. Maryland Parks Say ‘Plan Ahead’ For Summer Visits: Spur-of-the-moment trips in Maryland may become more difficult this summer. Some popular state parks are now requiring advance reservations.
