1. Council Meets: The County Council meets today at 9:30 a.m. to review FY26 operating budget, capital improvements program, and the proposed tax options. View the agenda. Learn more. Watch live below.

2. Capital Budget Community Meeting: County Executive Marc Elrich hosts the fifth of six public meetings on the FY27 Capital Improvements Program (CIP). Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 p.m., at the White Oak Community Recreation Center (1700 April Lane, Silver Spring) Time: 7 p.m.

The CIP funds long-term projects—such as school construction, recreation centers, and transportation improvements—separate from the operating budget, which covers annual expenses.

3. Municipal Monday:

Scotland AME Zion Church: This week the small church on Seven Locks Road in Potomac celebrated its rebuilding following flooding in 2019 that destroyed its foundation and closed the building to worshipers for five years.
