1. Albornoz Will Not Seek Re-Election: Two-term at-large Councilmember Gabe Albornoz announced Monday that he will not seek re-election to the Montgomery County Council in 2026.

2. Council Meeting: The county council will meet today starting at 10 a.m. The meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube @MoCoCouncilMD. At 11:30 a.m., councilmembers will host a commemoration celebrating African Heritage Month.

3. Youth Basketball Leagues: Registration closes Sunday, Sept. 21 for the county recreation department’s 3-on-3 fall youth basketball leagues.

4. Bowie Mill Road Bikeway Project: From 7-9 p.m. at Sequoyah Elementary School, the county transportation department will have an open house to discuss the proposed Bowie Mill Road Bikeway in Derwood.

5. Curiosity Cube: William Tyler Page Elementary School students learned all about artificial intelligence Friday as they figured out the difference between real and AI-generated photos, created a path for their mini self-driving robot cars and discovered how AI works.
