2. Fear of Immigration Arrests Curbs Area Shopping, Community Spirit: Wednesday, few people attended and even fewer dressed in their native clothing during what was to be a combined independence day celebration for people from Central America at the Crossroads Farmers Market in Takoma Park.

5. Student-Created Satellite Launched Into Space: Around the start of the pandemic, middle and high school students began designing a cube that finally was launched into space Sunday. Beginning in mid-November, their satellite will tweet photos from space directly onto X, the social media platform.
