This year National Nurses Week coincides with Mother’s Day. To some this might seem like a coincidence, but for two nurses at Rockville’s Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center , the timing is exactly right.
Edith Johnson is the Director of Nursing Support Services while Melissa Peterson works in the Progressive Care Unit at the hospital.
Edith joined Adventist HealthCare in 1990. Her daughter started work at the hospital less than a year ago. Melissa said her mother’s passion for nursing inspired her to go into the field.
Johnson and Peterson can celebrate all during May, since it’s also National Nurses Month.
