The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host an open house about the New Hampshire Avenue Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project. The in-person event focuses on the proposed BRT corridor between Fort Totten Metro Station and Colesville. MCDOT will engage the community and gather feedback on the transit project.
About the Project
The New Hampshire Avenue Flash BRT will offer high-frequency service with faster, more reliable trips. The proposed route may include dedicated bus lanes and traffic signal priority. It will connect Fort Totten and Colesville, serving key areas such as Takoma Park, Langley Park, and White Oak.
The route also includes the Federal Drug Administration campus, Hillandale, and the Takoma Langley Transit Center. The BRT will improve access to jobs, schools, health care, and essential services. It will connect to Metrorail, the Purple Line, US 29 Flash, and local buses.
