1. Best Times to Beat Bay Bridge Traffic: Holiday traffic can be unpredictable. Fortunately, with a little planning ahead, drivers can help reduce their time in holiday traffic at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The Maryland Transportation Authority recommends crossing the bridge at certain times.
2. Where to Find Fireworks: Montgomery County Recreation hosts free fireworks in Boyds and Kensington today and Saturday.
3. Leave Fireworks to Professionals: Fire officials from several local jurisdictions joined together Tuesday to send a strong message that all fireworks — including sparklers — are illegal for residents to have or use. For everyone’s safety, the officials urged residents to attend professional events like county-run displays.
4. Parade Roundup: Montgomery County will host a variety of daytime parades to honor our nation’s independence.
5. No School: A reminder that Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) are closed today.
