Montgomery County Police identified the victim of the fatal pedestrian crash as Blanca Elida Parada Del Cid, 47, of Kensington.
According to police, Parada Del Cid was crossing Veirs Mill Road near Galt Road when she was struck.

An adult female pedestrian was pronounced dead as a result of a collision Sunday near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Galt Avenue in Wheaton at about 9:30 p.m.
According to Montgomery County Police, the driver of a Nissan Rogue collided with the pedestrian and remained on the scene.
The crash is under investigation. Police said they would reveal the name of the woman who died following notification of her relatives.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: 4D officers are on scene of a pedestrian struck. Veirs Mill Road is closed between Galt Avenue and University Boulevard West. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
