This Friday, August 1, check out the Department of Recreation’s (DOR’s) fall offerings in the upcoming GUIDE. Registration opens August 12 for County residents and August 14 for non-County residents.
“These opportunities are for everyone, no matter their age or ability,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich in a July 30 press release. This fall’s programming includes day trips for seniors, therapeutic recreation and educational activities.
The SOAR – Senior Outdoor Activities in Recreation – day trips are one of DOR’s most popular offerings. This summer, SOAR’s trips take participants to Leesburg’s First Friday this Friday for $58 and a Crab Feast Paddlewheel Riverboat Cruise day trip next Thursday at the Choptank River for $126, among other activities.
In addition to SOAR, offerings this summer include Vovinam martial arts for kids and adults, dog trick training classes, sewing for beginners and Safe Sitter classes. Check the GUIDE page on August 1 to see fall offerings.
