Montgomery County Agricultural Fair Returns

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair returns Friday, August 8th through Saturday the 16th. The Agricultural Fair has been a staple within the county since 1945.

It began as a showcase for 4-H members to exhibit their livestock, garden prowess and home economics projects.  The original fairgrounds were in Rockville. But in 1949 the fair headed north to Gaithersburg where hundreds of volunteers built 12 outbuildings in a single day.

Celebrating its 76th year in Gaithersburg, this year’s Ag Fair includes a variety of food vendors, rides, games, competitions, and farm animals. It has grown over time and now has over 20 sponsors.

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair’s address is 501 Perry Parkway, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Parking is priced at $20 per car for the public lot.

Free shuttle buses run from Montgomery College’s campuses to the Agricultural Fair on a regular basis. Montgomery College’s main campus is located at 51 Mannakee Street in Rockville. The Germantown Campus is at 20200 Observation Drive. Look for signs that designate Fair Parking.

More information about hours and prices can be found on their website.
