A Preview of What’s Coming to MCPS in ’25-’26: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) teachers returned to the classroom this week ahead of the first day of school on Tuesday, Aug. 26, and ahead of the school system’s first-ever Transition Day. That will take place on Monday, Aug. 25 for students attending a new school for the first time. School buses will run on Monday to transport transitioning students to their new schools.

3. Slow Down in School Zones: The new school year for MCPS starts next week. Residents are reminded to watch out for school buses and pedestrians on their way to and from work.
