1. Poolesville Day Brings the Crowds — of Politicians: Every September for more than 20 years, Upcounty invites Downcounty to explore the wonders of Poolesville. The western community recently celebrated Poolesville Day with a parade, a street fair and most importantly a breakfast that definitely played to the crowd.

2. Construction: Montgomery Parks will be starting construction on Little Falls Parkway for a Vision Zero project. It is expected to be done in early December, depending on weather.

3. Youth Basketball: Registration for Montgomery County Recreation’s winter youth basketball programs opens today at 8:30 a.m. See more here.

4. Community Conversation: County Executive Marc Elrich hosts a meeting tonight to get input from residents on the next operating budget. Tonight’s forum will focus on issues that are important to the African-Caribbean Diaspora communities. The meeting will be 7-8:30 p.m. in the Community Event Room at the Montgomery College East County Education Center in White Oak. See more here.

5. $10 Million For Early Childhood Education: In an effort to improve local childcare and fix gaps in services, county leaders announced a $10 million investment in early childhood education last week.
