Police Locate Car and Driver in Wheaton Hit and Run

Montgomery County Police located the 2012 Audi A4 in Laurel that struck and killed Ganga Prajapati in Wheaton on the evening of Sept. 23.

The driver fled the scene that left the 52-year-old from New Carrollton seriously injured. Prajapati was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead. As of Thursday, the driver has not been charged pending further investigation.

The collision occurred at Veirs Mill Road and Ennalls Avenue.

Montgomery County police officers and Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and found the woman in the road with critical injuries.

In their search for the driver, police reported the Audi to have damage to its windshield and right front fog light assembly. According to the police, the car headed east following the incident.
