Montgomery County Police officers arrested a suspect who held a woman against her will Monday at 4:15 p.m.
The suspect was armed and known to the woman, according to police. The arrest involved a police pursuit through Bethesda and onto I-495.
Officers responded to Westlake Drive and Democracy Boulevard following a report of a woman being held against her will by an “armed acquaintance.” Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect drove away.
The pursuit ended on Lockwood Drive in White Oak where the suspect was taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
Second district officers, who cover the Bethesda area, thanked the community and praised the work of all the officers who assisted.
The commander from the 5th District, which covers Germantown, wrote on social media, “Monitoring this pursuit today, I was absolutely impressed by the work of the @mcpnews 2nd District officers, all others who participated. To have an event like this end with no injuries is a testament to them, and the excellent drivers training we receive!”
