It’s Wednesday, Oct. 22, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County. Check the weather forecast here.
1. ‘This is the First Time, We Are the Enemies’: Furloughed federal workers who attended Friday’s support night expressed multiple emotions. Some were scared they would run out of money. Others felt beat up by a country they believed they were helping that had turned against them. And still others wondered if they would have to move to get a new job.

4. Be Alert for Deer: Drivers should keep an eye out for increased deer activity during the fall season. See more here
Oh, deer! It's fall season & deer activity is on the rise, especially at dawn & dusk. Slow down, stay alert, scan ahead & use your high beams when appropriate. If you do encounter deer in roadway, brake don't swerve! Assume they have friends. Buckle up. pic.twitter.com/gZq0WiosxL
