The home of former Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder is set to go up for auction next month, with bidding opening Dec. 5.
Bids are expected to start at between $7.5 million and $11.5 million, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Concierge Auctions is in charge of the auction.
Located at 11900 River Road, the property was originally listed for more than $49 million in February 2023. The asking price dropped by $14 million in August after the family struggled to sell what would have been an all-time record high selling price for a Washington, D.C.-area residence.
Snyder and his family lived at the home until 2023, then donated the mansion to the American Cancer Society after it sat on the market for more than a year.

Concierge Auctions describes the property as a ” magnificent French Chateau-inspired estate exemplifies the pinnacle of architectural refinement and luxurious living. Approached by a half-mile tree-lined drive beyond an arched gate, the residence unveils breathtaking panoramas of the river and protected parkland.”
The 25,000-square-foot main residence has four levels, a professional theater, clubroom with a bar and wine cellar. Altogether, the property includes three structures comprising more than 40,000 square feet. It also includes an 11-bay garage, heated pool and automated snow-melt system.
